The most common name in the world is Mohammed.
The name of all the continents ends with the same letter that they start with.
The strongest muscle in the body is the tongue.
TYPEWRITER is the longest word that can be made using the letters only on one row of the keyboard.
Women blink nearly twice as much as men

You can't kill yourself by holding your breath.
People say "Bless you" when you sneeze because when you sneeze, your heart stops for a millisecond.

Translation of literary works

Literal:

O friend, for the morrow let us not worry
This moment we have now, let us not hurry
When our time comes, we shall not tarry
With seven thousand-year-olds, our burden carry.

Meaning:

O hark, let us not think of the morrow
Cherish this moment, far from sorrow
Life is a temporal gift that we borrow
Whether dead for ages, or leave tomorrow.

Fitzgerald:

Ah! my Beloved, fill the Cup that clears
To-day of past Regrets and future Fears
To-morrow?--Why, To-morrow I may be
Myself with Yesterday's Sev'n Thousand Years.

Optimism - Simply a Good Attitude

By:Krystal Kuehn

We are either the masters or the victims of our attitudes. It is a matter of personal choice. Who we are today is the result of choices we made yesterday. Tomorrow, we will become what we choose today. To change means to choose to change. ~John Maxwell

What kind of thoughts come to your mind when you think about your life? How about your family, your work, your future? Suppose your thoughts could change your destiny. Would you want to change or improve any of them?

We might believe our thoughts just happen, and we don't consider the fact that we can choose to stop certain thoughts and refocus. We can choose what we accept and meditate on, and we can choose what we resist and reject. Our thoughts shape the attitudes that direct our lives. We make decisions based on our attitudes and beliefs.

Thoughts lead to other related thoughts. When they are hopeful and positive, we develop a good attitude. Likewise, a bad attitude results when a habit of negative thoughts dominate our thinking. For example, suppose you feel hurt that your friend didn't invite you to lunch. You might begin to think that it is because she doesn't want you to come. That thought may lead to you wondering if she really likes you. Maybe you did something wrong. Maybe there is something wrong with you. You feel angry and rejected. You dwell on the offense and have a bad attitude. If you hold on to it, it might come out as rejection and bitterness toward your friend.

Hurt and angry feelings affect our choices and attitudes. We might not be able to control how we feel, but we can control how we direct our thoughts. Suppose you were to stop the negative cycle after feeling hurt that you were not invited. There could be many good reasons why your friend didn't ask you to join her. Maybe she just wanted to go alone and it had nothing to do with you. You would have liked to go, but it is okay. You can choose to not dwell on the offense and negative feelings. You can refocus. Forgive and release it. If need be, talk to her about it.

Our thinking patterns become habits and attitudes. Optimism and pessimism are the result of the kinds of thoughts we choose to dominate our thought life and perspective. If we were to live by these words of wisdom, we would spare ourselves of the negativity that keeps us from fulfilling our potential and purpose: Fill your mind and meditate on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious-the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. (Philippians 4:8).

We can choose to occupy our minds with the best in people or situations, rather than the worst. We can choose to see the beauty and splendor of every rose rather than its thorns and ugliness. We can notice and praise what is right and good rather than dwell on mistakes or problems. We can hold on to hope rather than submit to despair. We can appreciate and embrace what we have and all that is before us rather than live in regret of the past. We can choose to live today as best as we can because that is all we have right now.

It's your choice: you can either count your blessings or recount your disappointments.
~Jim Gallery

We shouldn't deny the pain of what happens in our lives.
But, we should refuse to focus only on the valleys. ~Charles Swindoll

Pain is inevitable, but misery is optional. ~Max Lucado

Asking For Help is Not a Sign of Weakness
نويسنده : English Department - ساعت ۱۱:٤۳ ‎ق.ظ روز چهارشنبه ٢۸ مهر ۱۳۸٩

By:Peter Fisher

When you find yourself in an unfamiliar situation, asking for help is not a sign of weakness. Yes, everyone tells you to 'stand on your own two feet' and take responsibility for your actions, but if you haven't experienced a situation before, how can you know what to do?

We're all guilty to some extent since we want  to sort things out for ourselves and not to rely on others, but at certain times calling for help is the best way forward.

You can picture the scene, can't you, of the man - and it is usually a man - driving blindly blindly around an unfamiliar town looking for an address he doesn't know. If only he would stop and ask for directions - help - he could save lots of time and frustration and get to his appointment on time.

It's obvious to everybody in a case like that, that asking for help is not a sign of weakness, but rather the sensible thing to do. So why do so many of us keep blundering on when help is available?

There are times when you know you don't have the expertise, such as when you look for a new job and need to write your resume. If your pride prevents you from getting help and you just do the writing yourself, it may well cost you the opportunity you were seeking.

Similarly when you just started a new job, you often don't want to admit that you haven't got the knowledge to finish a particular task, so you keep going and eventually make things worse than they were. This may lead at worse to loss of the new job, or at best a diminishing of you in the eyes of the boss.

Yet, your new employer knows that you can't possibly have the knowledge that your co-workers have gained over the span of their employment and so would not look negatively upon being asked for help.

Now that you see that asking for help is not a sign of weakness but is the sensible and mature thing to do, you will also recognize the many areas of your life where expert help would save you time, energy and money in the long run. Making your life easier by asking for and using knowledgeable help is not a sign of weakness, but is actually quite a clever thing to do.

The Art of Conversation

The Art of Conversation - 3 Amazing Tips to Easily Talk With Anyone

there are still a good number of people who can't seem to hold up a conversation. That's all going to change now. If you want to learn about the art of conversation and how to easily communicate with anyone, read on!

Tip # 1: Be Natural.

You don't have to pretend to be someone else just to get a good conversation flowing. In fact, pretending to be someone you're not only serves to bring your confident points down.

Aside from the pressure of keeping up pretenses, you're also pressured to create a good first impression. You end up making more mistakes and making a fool of yourself in front of the other person.

But by relaxing and staying true to who you are, you'll have no reason to be nervous anymore. After all, who knows how to act like you better than yourself? Besides, you may not realize it yourself, but there is something special about each one of us.

Tip # 2: Read Up.

Perfecting the art of conversation takes time and effort. One way to do this is by reading up. Reading the paper everyday, for example, feeds your mind. It helps you stay on track of current events-something which has proven itself to be a very effective conversation starter.

Reading widens your knowledge and your vocabulary. It also boosts your confidence because now you feel more equipped to face other people and start a conversation with them.

It would greatly help if you read materials related to the field or topic of interest of the people you'll be meeting. For example, if you know that many of the people attending a certain event speak Spanish, you can learn some common Spanish words and phrases that you may use to talk with them.

Tip # 3: Give and Take.

Remember that the art of conversation is a two-way street. You're not there to listen to all of their woes for an hour. You're not there to talk about your stupid day for an hour either.

Conversation needs participation from both parties. The best way to go about this is to ask the other person something and then relate your own experience to what they tell you. That way, both of you get to talk to each other and learn more about each other as well.

The art of conversation is not difficult. All it takes is an open mind and practice to do it well. Don't let your nervousness affect you. Be as natural as you can be. Read up on the news and learn to share the spotlight with another person. After this, I don't see you having any more communication problems.

Peace of Mind
نويسنده : English Department - ساعت ۱٢:٠۸ ‎ب.ظ روز شنبه ٩ امرداد ۱۳۸٩

10 principles for Peace of Mind

By:ty

1. Do Not Interfere In Others' Business Unless Asked.
Most of us create our own problems by interfering too
often in others' affairs. We do so because somehow we
have convinced ourselves that our way is the best way,
our logic is the perfect logic and those who do not
conform to our thinking must be criticized and steered
to the right direction, our direction. This thinking denies
the existence of individuality and consequently the
existence of God.. God has created each one of us in a
unique way. No two human beings can think or act
in exactly the same way. All men or women act the way
they do because God within them prompts them that
way. Mind your own business and you will keep your
peace.
2. Forgive And Forget:
This is the most powerful aid to peace of mind. We often
develop ill feelings inside our heart for the person who
insults us or harms us. We nurture grievances. This in
turn results in loss of sleep, development of stomach
ulcers, and high blood pressure. This insult or injury
was done once, but nourishing of grievance goes on
forever by constantly remembering it. Get over this bad
habit. Life is too short to waste in such trifles.
Forgive,20Forget, and march on. Love flourishes in
giving and forgiving.
3. Do Not Crave For Recognition:
This world is full of selfish people. They seldom praise
anybody without selfish motives. They may praise you
today because you are in power, but no sooner than you
are powerless, they will forget your achievement and
will start finding faults in you. Why do you wish to kill
yourself in striving for their recognition? Their
recognition is not worth the aggravation. Do your duties
ethically and sincerely.
4. Do Not Be Jealous:
We all have experienced how jealousy can disturb our peace of
mind. You know that you work harder than your colleagues in
the office, but sometimes they get promotions; you do not.
You started a business several years ago, but you are not as
successful as your neighbor whose business is only one year
old. There are several examples like these in everyday life.
Should you be jealous? No. Remember everybody's life is
shaped by his/her destiny, which has now become
his/her reality. If you are destined to be rich, nothing in the
world can stop you. If you are not so destined, no one can help
you either. Nothing will be gained by blaming others for your
misfortune. Jealousy will not get you anywhere; it will only
take away your peace of mind.
5. Change Yourself According To The Environment:
If you try to change the environment single-handedly, the
chances are you will fail. Instead, change yourself to suit your
environment. As you do this, even the environment, which has
been unfriendly to you, will mysteriously change and seem
congenial and harmonious.
6. Endure What Cannot Be Cured:
This is the best way to turn a disadvantage into an advantage.
Every day we face numerous inconveniences, ailments,
irritations, and accidents that are beyond our control. If we
cannot control them or change them, we must learn to put up
with these things. We must learn to endure them cheerfully.
Believe in yourself and you will gain in terms of patience, inner
strength and will power.
7. Do Not Bite Off More Than You Can Chew:
This maxim needs to be remembered constantly. We often
tend to take more responsibilities than we are capable of
carrying out. This is done to satisfy our ego. Know your
limitations. . Why take on additional loads that may create
more worries? You cannot gain peace of mind by
expanding your external activities. Reduce your material
engagements and spend time in prayer, introspection and
meditation. This will reduce those thoughts in your mind that
make you restless. Uncluttered mind will produce greater
peace of mind.
8. Meditate Regularly:
Meditation calms the mind and gets rid of disturbing thoughts.
This is the highest state of peace of mind. Try and experience
it yourself. If you meditate earnestly for half an hour everyday,
your mind will tend to become peaceful during the remaining
twenty-three and half-hours. Your mind will not be easily
disturbed as it was before. You would benefit by gradually
increasing the period of daily meditation. You may think that
this will interfere with your daily work. On the contrary, this
will increase your efficiency and you will be able to produce
better results in less time.
9. Never Leave The Mind Vacant:
An empty mind is the devil's workshop. All evil actions start in
the vacant mind. Keep your mind occupied in something
positive, something worthwhile . Actively follow a hobby. Do
something that holds your interest. You must decide what you
value more: money or peace of mind. Your hobby, like social
work or religious work, may not always earn you more money,
but you will have a sense of fulfillment and achievement. Even
when you are resting physically, occupy yourself in healthy
reading or mental chanting of God's name.
10. Do Not Procrastinate And Never Regret:
Do not waste time in protracted wondering " Should I or
shouldn't I?" Days, weeks, months, and years may be wasted
in that futile mental debating. You can never plan enough
because you can never anticipate all future happenings. Value
your time and do the things that need to be done. It does not
matter if you fail the first time. You can learn from your
mistakes and succeed the next time. Sitting back and worrying
will lead to nothing. Learn from your mistakes, but do not
brood over the past. DO NOT REGRET. Whatever happened
was desti ned to happen only that way. Why cry over spilt
milk?

Thinking Positive - Negative Energy Comes From Jealousy

By:Dan M Smith

The power of positive thinking can really change the world around you even if it seems like the world is against you. There is a silver lining to every dark cloud and part of positive thinking is finding the good things in the worst situations. It can even be harder to achieve if you surround yourself with negative people. Sometimes it is not your choice.

I was raised in a negative environment. I was the youngest child who just never seemed to capture the attention of my single mom. Every milestone in my life while I was under her wing was always shot down instantly with nothing but negative comments. I would come home with straight A's on my report card and her response would be, "Straight A's do not keep the bullies away do they?" I never quite understood this mentality. I was always happy for anyone that achieved any goals. As I got older I started to understand where all of this negativity was coming from.

When I was eighteen, I got my first car with a payment. I had done it all by myself. I did it with positive thinking. I walked into the car lot knowing exactly what I wanted and what I wanted to pay. I knew that I was going to drive off that lot with my own car. I was positive. When I got home, I called my older brother to share my enthusiasm. I told him that I had just gotten a new car and his response was, "You will never be able to make the payments." "I give you one year until it is repossessed." I could not believe what I just heard. Right then at the very moment I suddenly understood why so many people were so negative to me my whole life. It was that green eyed monster known as Jealousy. It is the root of most negative comments from anyone. I was one hundred percent positive that was the cause of all of this negative energy.

You must put up a shield against this negative energy and knowing where it is coming from is the first step. Once you realize the source and the cause then separating yourself from it is easy. The power of YES is far greater than the power of no. Remember you are in control and you choose to let this negativity have an impact on you. Positive thinking will lead you on the higher path.

Boost Your Creativity
نويسنده : English Department - ساعت ٤:۱۸ ‎ب.ظ روز سه‌شنبه ٢٢ تیر ۱۳۸٩

12 Tips To Boost Your Creativity

There seems to be nearly endless tips out there that exist to boost creativity. This is fantastic since there are always times when creativity simply will not come.

Since everyone is different and since different days bring different strains on creativity, the more creativity boosting techniques the better.

Listed below are 12 creativity techniques that have worked for me:

1. Brainstorming

This is a classic technique that works especially well in groups. Within a time frame, everyone gives ideas that might solve a problem. No matter what the idea, there must be no criticism [Dealing With Criticism]. Just write the idea down and criticize it later.

Then choose 5 ideas that might be the most effective, most efficient and/or the cheapest. Then rank these ideas in order from most feasible to least feasible. The most feasible idea will be the one that you should try first.

2. Keep a notebook with you

Always write down ideas that come to you. You never know how useful this idea might be later.

3. Go for a walk

For some reason, walking always helps me think better. Whenever I reach a point where I can’t come up with a solution to a problem, I immediately start walking and the ideas begin flowing in.

4. Avoid distractions

Distractions, especially television, can really break up creative flow. The only sensory stimuli that might not inhibit creativity is music. But if you are listening to music and you cannot think, turn it off.

5. Read

Read as much as you can about as many things as possible. Most ideas are built on the foundation of the ideas of others.

6. Keep your mind stimulated

Do not let a day go by without stimulating your brain. The best way to stimulate your brain is to engage in a variety of challenging activities that force you to use your brain.

7. Surround yourself with nature

Recent studies have shown that plants actually improve creativity. Also, fresh air has long been shown to be good for the brain. If the weather is right, consider taking your laptop outside.

8. Use the most powerful word: “Why?”

Set aside some time. With any particular situation, keep asking the question why. Do not settle for “I don’t know.” Keep pondering until you come up with an answer or until you run out of time.

9. Develop an expert mentality

Do not simply settle for being proficient. Try to be an expert in a particular topic. And don’t just have an expert mentality, but actually become an expert. With a vast amount of knowledge, you will be able to come up with all sorts of solutions to a problem.

10 Take risks

Do not be afraid if your plans do not work out.

11. Stay out of the box

Know that different problems often have multiple solutions. Do not get stuck on one solution to a problem. Explore multiple angles.

12. Set aside time for creativity

Try to get the bulk of your work done early so that you can have time for creativity. Use this time to generate ideas. Remember, creativity often requires an incubation period.

Eg. I love my younger sister (she is 5 years younger to me) and I like to help her all the time.
Use curly { } braces if you want to write some number list.
Eg. {1, 2, 3, 4, 5}
Use Square bracket [ ] to quote authors comments
Eg. “I’d like to thank [some friends] and my parents [sic] for their love and support.

I hope now onwards when you will be writing you will be concerned about correct punctuations. Above, i have discussed the general use of punctuation (not all uses of punctuation). You can share some interesting rules about punctuation like the mentioned above, if you have any. We shall be eagerly waiting for your responses on this blog.

Wishing you Success!!

One morning Harry came to his mother while she was having her breakfast, and said to her:"No one at my school likes me,Mother. The teacher don't and the children don't.Even the cleaners and the bus drivers ."

"well, Harry, perhaps you aren't very nice to them. If  a few people don't like a person,he or she may not be responsible for that, but if a lot of people don't, there's usually something wrong, and that person really needs to change." Her mother answered.

"I'm to old to change.I don't want to go to school." Harry said

"Do't be silly,Harry. You have to go.you're quite well and you still have a lot of things to learn.and beside that, you're the headmaster of the school.'                نقل از:داستانهای زیبا

Conversation Starters

Interesting Conversation Starters - How to Start Great Conversations and Make Friends

It is important to keep some interesting conversation starters handy every time. Why? Well, let's say you're at this party where you hardly know anybody. The feeling is awkward. The only other person you know is chatting up another person on the other side of the room.

Suddenly, a person makes their way next to you. This is your chance to start up a conversation. But what should you talk about? You don't really know this person after all... By the time you think of something, the person has already left.

Does this situation sound familiar? Well, perhaps it's time you read up on interesting conversation starters!

Social situations like the one mentioned above are very common. People aren't always ready with a topic. Should you talk politics? Should you talk about your favorite show? Or what about the newest book you bought last week?

Read on to learn how to get the communication ball rolling.

Interesting Conversation Starter # 1: Food

A party is not a party without food. And you can always count on food to be an interesting topic of discussion.

For example, you can comment on the food the host is serving. "The lamb they have here is great, isn't it? I've never tasted anything quite like it." The other person would either agree or disagree.

If they say, "Yeah, definitely the best," you can say, "I wonder what else they're serving tonight..." The other person will then have a chance to answer.

On the other hand, if they say, "Nah. I've had better," you can proceed to ask where that better lamb is; and before you know it, you're talking about odd cuisines around the world.

Interesting Conversation Starter # 2: Common Friends

Another great topic to start a conversation with is a friend you have in common. This technique is a little like comparing notes. Once you have established some sort of common ground, it will be easier to jump from one topic to another.

Interesting Conversation Starter # 3: Have You Ever...?

Starting a conversation with a have-you-ever question is always a hit. Not only does it provide you with something to talk about, it also helps you get to know the other person more.

However, just make sure to steer away from the more sensitive have-you-ever topics because that might just make the whole situation awkward. Stick to the "Have you ever been to Asia?" or "Have you ever seen a Harry Potter movie?"

Interesting conversation starters vary from person to person. Just remember not to push things too far and to not push a person when he or she is clearly not interested in talking.

ترجمه سانتی زیبا از شکسپیر

آیا قیاس گیرمت از روز نوبهار؟                                                                  ترجمه ی : داود خزایی

?Shall I compare thee to a summer's day
:Thou art more lovely and more temperate
,Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May
;And summer's lease hath all too short a date
,Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines
,And often is his gold complexion dimmed
,And every fair from fair sometime declines
;By chance, or nature's changing course untrimmed
,But thy eternal summer shall not fade
,Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow'st
,Nor shall death brag thou wander'st in his shade
,When in eternal lines to time thou grow'st
,So long as men can breathe, or eyes can see
.So long lives this, and this gives life to thee

Read and laugh(jokes), part2
نويسنده : English Department - ساعت ۱:٥۳ ‎ق.ظ روز سه‌شنبه ۱٠ فروردین ۱۳۸٩

Dear readers

have a very nice year full of success and happiness

The  first part of materials in new year consists of two jokes

Doctors  meeting

A group of psychiatrists were attending a convention. Four of them decided to leave, and walked out together. One said the other three. "People are always coming to us with their guilt and fears, but we have no one that we can go to when we have problems." The others agreed.

Then one said, "Since we are all professionals, why don't we take some time right now to hear each other out?"

The other three agreed.

The first then confessed, "I have an uncontrollable desire to kill my patients."

The second psychiatrist said, "I love expensive things and so I find ways to cheat my patients out of their money whenever I can so I can buy the things I want."

The third followed with, "I'm involved with selling drugs and often get my patients to sell them for me."

The fourth psychiatrist then confessed, "I know I'm not supposed to, but no matter how hard I try, I can't keep a secret…"

=======================

Just  cut  your  hair  first

A young man comes home and says "Dad, just got my driver's license and would like to use the family car."

Father replies, : "OK., son. But, first, you have to get good grades in school, keep your room clean, make the yard is neat, and cut your hair. Come back in a few monthas and then we'll see.""

Well, Several months pass and the young man comes into the house with his report card in his hand. "Dad, I got great marks on my report card. I've been keeping my room as neat as a pin, and the yard is always ship-shape. How about letting me use the car?"

Father replies, "That's all true, but son you didn't cut your hair."

Son says, "But, dad, Jesus had long hair."

Father replies , "Yes, son, you're perfectly right. And he walked every where he want on foot."

Easy and Difficult

Easy is to get a place is someone's address book.
Difficult is to get a place in someone's heart.

Easy is to judge the mistakes of others

Difficult is to recognize our own mistakes

Easy is to talk without thinking
Difficult is to refrain the tongue

Easy is to hurt someone who loves us.
Difficult is to heal the wound...

Easy is to set rules.
Difficult is to follow them...

Easy is to dream every night.

Difficult is to fight for a dream...

Easy is to show victory
.
Difficult is to assume defeat with dignity...

Easy is to admire a full moon.
Difficult to see the other side...

Easy is to stumble with a stone.
Difficult is to get up...

Easy is to enjoy life every day.
Difficult to give its real value...

Easy is to promise something to someone.
Difficult is to fulfill that promise...

Easy is to say we love.
Difficult is to show it every day...

Easy is to criticize others
.
Difficult is to improve oneself...

Easy is to make mistakes.
Difficult is to learn from them...

Easy is to weep for a lost love
.
Difficult is to take care of it so not to lose it.

Easy is to think about improving
.
Difficult is to stop thinking it and put it into action...

Easy is to think bad of others

Difficult is to give them the benefit of the doubt...

Easy is to receive

Difficult is to give...

Easy to read this

Difficult to follow ...

Easy is keep the friendship with words

Difficult is to keep it with meanings.

William Shakspeare
نويسنده : English Department - ساعت ٤:۱۳ ‎ب.ظ روز دوشنبه ٢٤ اسفند ۱۳۸۸

The Life of William Shakspeare

William shekespeare′s father , John Shekespearse , moved to the idyllic town of Stratford-upon-Avon in the mid-sixteenth century , where he became a successful landowner , moneylender , wool and agricultural good leader , and glover. In 1557 he married \mary Arden. John Shekespeare lived during a time when the middle class grew and became wealthier and wealthier , thus allowing is members increasing freedoms , luxuries , and voice in the local government. He took advantage of the opportunities afforded him through this social growth and in 1557 became a member of the Stratford Council , an event which marked the beginning of an illustrious political career.

The town records indicate that William shakespeare was John and Mary′s third child. His birth is unregistrated , but legend places it on April 23, 1564, partially because April 23 is the day on which he died 52 years later. In any event, his baptism was registrated with the town on April 26, 1564. Not much is known about William′s childhood, although it is safe to assume that he attended the local grammer school, the King′s New School, which was staffed with a faculty who held Oxford degrees, and whose curriculum included mathematics, natucal sciences, Latin language and rhetoric, logic, Christian ethics, and classical litrature. He did not attend the university, which was not unusal at this time, science university education was reserved for prospective clergymen and was not a particularly mind-opening experience. However, the education he received at grammer school was excellent, as evidenced by the numerous classical and literary references in his plays. His early works espicially drew on such Greek and Roman greats as Seneca and Plautus. What is more impressive than his formal education , however , is the wealth of general knowledge exhibited in his works, from a working knowledge of many professions to a vocabulary that is far greater than any other English writer.

In 1582, at the age of eighteen, William Shakespeare married the twenty-six year old Anne Hathway. Their first daughter, Susanna, was baptized only six months later, wich has given rise to much speculation concerning the circumstances surronding the marriage. In 1585, twins were born to the couple, and baptized Hamnet and Judith Shakespeare. Hamnet died at the young age of eleven by which time Shakespeare was already a successful playwright. Around 1589 Shakespeare wrote hes first play, Henry VI, Part 1 . Sometime between his marriage and writing this play he and his wife moved to London, where he pursued a career as a playwright and actor.

Shakespeare was very successful and made quite a bit of money. He invested this money in Stratford real estate and was able to purchase the second largest house in Stratford, the New Place, for this parents in 1597. In 1596 Shakepeare applied for a coat of arms for his family, in effect making himself into a gentleman, and his daughters married successfully and wealthily.

William Shakespeare lived until 1616 while his wife Anna died in 1623 at the age of sixty-seven. He was buried in the chancel of hhis church at Stratford. The lines above his tomb (allegedly written by Shakespeare himself) read :

Good friend, for Jesus′ sake forbear To dig the dust enclosed here. Blessed be the man that spares these stones and cursed be he that moved my bones.

His work :

·         As You Like It

·         Comedy of Errors

·         Coriolanus

·         Hamlet

·         Henry IV, Part I

·         Henry IV, Part II

·         Henry V

·         Julius Caesar
